Procedure & safety

From assessment to aftercare

How the assessment works

First, eyelid position, eyelid closure, ocular surface and functional impairment are assessed. Depending on the findings, photographs, measurements or visual-field testing may be useful. Conservative and surgical options are then discussed individually.

Aftercare & possible risks

Temporary swelling, bruising, dryness or a feeling of tightness may occur after a procedure. Possible complications include bleeding, infection, asymmetry, over- or under-correction and incomplete eyelid closure. Severe pain or deterioration of vision requires prompt review.
